Portable Garages are tension fabric covered buildings which are supported by a structural metal framework. Often referred to as portable garages or portable shelters, these structures are very advantageous due to portability, affordability and ease of construction by consumers who do not have construction experience. The biggest advantage of these garages is that they cost a fraction of what a conventional wood, brick, metal, or vinyl sided storage garage can cost. While the cost may be low, these Portable Garages can provide protection for up to 20 years before cover replacement.
Even though Portable Garages are actually classified as "temporary" structures in most instances, they can be used for thousands of applications. Portable Garages are available in many different sizes. When considering one of these fabric buildings, it is important to consider the size of the door opening on the shelter. The smaller buildings such as 8'-10' wide can be used to store patio furniture, bikes, toys, garden tools, motorcycles, snowmobiles, lumber, ATV's, lawn mowers, tools, and more!! Many consumers will place the garage in the garden, backyard area, or close to the consumer's house.
The 12'-14' wide buildings are most commonly used to store cars, trucks, boats, trailers, campers, small equipment, and more!! Again, it is extremely important to verify door opening requirements. The intermediate sized instant garage buildings are typically placed on gravel or concrete due to them being used to store vehicles and equipment. If placed on dirt, the surface can become "soft" which may not allow the contents to be removed easily.
Buildings larger than 14' wide have a variety of uses. The 14' wide buildings typically have taller door openings which provide for easier clearance. 14' wide instant garages often have door widths in excess of 10'. Due to this they are often used to store RVs, 5th wheels, campers, and travel trailers.
Larger instant structures can be used to store 2 or more vehicles, equipment, boats, etc. Buildings in excess of 30' wide array of applications including agricultural use. Large Portable Garages are often used to store hay, tractors, trucks, etc. Many municipalities may use them to store sand and salt for the winter months. When Portable Garages become larger, they are often mounted on wood posts, blocks, or a concrete foundation. This provides for much better mounting and less likelihood of damaging the garage.
The benefit of owning one of these structures is tremendous. We have listed just a few of the uses of an instant garage. Always consider the door opening width and length and surface mounting areas before making a purchase.
